COVID-19 Update – 12/01/2021
Below is an update on the process and protocols in place at The Gables in line with the government and BVA guidelines. We are open for appointments and operations for essential animal treatment and care. Please call the practice if you have any queries or questions, we are here and happy to discuss.
We politely ask that anyone who is potentially symptomatic (cough/fever/loss of sense of smell/taste) DOES NOT attend the practice. Please arrange for a friend or relative to bring your pet to the surgery on your behalf.
Practice opening hours:
Monday – Friday 8:30am – 6:30pm
Saturday 8.30 am – 12:00pm
Appointment times:
Monday – Friday 9:00am – 11.15am, 2:00pm – 3.30pm & 4.30pm – 6.30pm
Saturday 9:00am – 11:00am
For any collections, please ensure you arrive at the practice no later than 6:15pm.
Visiting the practice
When visiting the practice, please call us from the car park to let us know you have arrived and a member of the team will then instruct you further.
We ask all dogs to be placed in the front porch way and close the black gate so the dog is secure. We ask owners to then step back so we can bring the dog into the practice whilst remaining socially distant.
For cats and smaller pets, please ensure you place them in secure and appropriate carriers before bringing them to the practice.
The vet or nurse will speak to the owner if required from the door (socially distanced) or over the phone.
Any medications are left with the patient in the doorway in a collection area.
Upon arrival for an operation, please call the practice to let us know you are here. You will then be asked to walk to the back of the practice to drop off your pet. Please do not drive to the back of the practice. Use the front client car park and walk with your animal to the back door.
Again, please ensure cats and smaller pets are brought to the practice in suitable carriers.
Prescriptions and Diet Orders
For repeat prescription orders of ongoing medications please click HERE to fill an order via our website, email or call.
Please place your order well in advance of the end of your supply, especially if you require your medication to be posted. Our current recommendation is 3 days.
During this difficult time, it is still important to continue to treat your pet regularly for parasites like ticks, fleas and worms. These parasites will continue to find ways into your home and can disrupt you and your pets daily lives. We will continue to provide your treatments as best we can. Call us on 01482 648942 if you require a replenishment and we will advise what is required.
For collection, please call the practice ahead of your arrival to ensure your items are ready. Upon arrival, please call the practice from the car park and your items will be available from the dedicated collection area in the porch way.
We can mail out prescriptions or arrange collection of drugs and food. Alternatively we can arrange home delivery. Please phone the practice on 01482 648942 to discuss these options.
We are here and available to speak on the phone should you have any queries.
Payments
Card payments only – please speak with the reception team and they will take all payments over the phone.
Payments for medicines/products are to be taken before collection over the phone. For collection, please call the practice ahead of your arrival to ensure your items are ready. Upon arrival, please call the practice from the car park and your items will be available from the collection area in the porch way.
Our teams indoors are separated to ensure the safety of all pets and owners.
Many Thanks from the Gables Team!
